| BIOGRAPHY GARY HELMS, a native of the Southeast, Texas is a "true" country artist. His roots have kept him true to the sound of traditional country music with influences of Merle Haggard, George Strait, and the classic Bob Wills. After attending college, Helms moved to Nashville to pursue a lifelong dream, a career in music. Keeping with "traditional" country roots, Helms moved to Nashville in 1999 soon after becoming one of the top acts in the Texas music market. He soon signed with MGM Records Nashville, less than a year later the label closed operations in country music but not before most of the artists were moved to TBG Entertainment which would become the independent label for those acts. |
